Original rare French sailor's cap from 1935, from a cabin boy on the legendary French ocean liner SS Normandie. Equipped with the original cap ribbon with gold-coloured print “NORMANDIE”. The inside is stamped by the French manufacturer Chapellerie A. Bruyss, Vivier.

The SS Normandie was commissioned in 1935 and was at the time the largest and fastest passenger ship in the world. Thanks to its revolutionary technology and luxurious appearance, it became one of the most famous ocean liners in maritime history. It sailed on the prestigious Le Havre - New York route. During the Second World War, the ship was taken over by the American navy but was lost in 1942 after a major fire.

There are two moth holes on the back, otherwise, the cap is in good condition.
