Description
Original German Gautag 1938 Süd-Hannover Braunschweig event badge. This beautifully crafted shield-shaped badge features a multi-coloured woven fabric centrepiece in a metal frame, which clearly distinguishes this version from the simpler all-metal variants. On the front, the imperial eagle, six regional coats of arms, and the inscriptions “GAU-TAG 9–12.6.1938” and “SÜD-HANNOVER BRAUNSCHWEIG” are visible.
This type of badge was issued on the occasion of the regional Gautag meeting that took place in Hanover from 9 to 12 June 1938. The reverse side features the original horizontal pin clasp. A nice and decorative original example in good used condition with normal signs of wear appropriate for its age.
