Camouflage combat cap Koevoet. It was the special anti-guerrilla unit of the South African police in Namibia, formerly South West Africa. The unit was deployed in the homeland of Ovamboland in northern Namibia, against the fighters of SWAPO (South West Africa People's Organization). Koevoet was composed of carefully selected Black police officers and was commanded by white South African police officers and ex-military personnel who had received special anti-terrorist training.
