Golden Book of Fire Maps Publisher J. Rozez NV Brussels 1937 661 pages, dimensions: 29 x 34.5 x 5 cm Full linen binding with medal The Golden Book was published during the 1930s. The book contains names and often photos of war veterans who owned a Fire Map. A Fire Map was given to everyone who had fought at the front and was in possession of a Fire Cross (medal). Someone who owned a Fire Map was therefore also called a "Fire Crosser." The front page of each Golden Book features an example of a Fire Map. Every veteran who ordered the book received a personalized version with a picture of "their" Fire Map. Veterans who wanted to be included in the book had to fill out a form. Among other things, they had to indicate which awards they had received. To verify the information provided, home visits were made, and the necessary proof had to be submitted. The book is in nice used condition for its age, the last page (endpaper) has some damage, see photo, can be glued
