Hasenbos Militaria

Description

Bronze Victory Medal, awarded to veterans after World War I. The medal was instituted on July 27, 1920, and was intended for Czechoslovaks who served in the Czechoslovak Revolutionary Army or the Czechoslovak Legion, which was formed during World War I in France, Italy, Serbia, and Russia. Bohemia and Moravia were Austrian crown lands in 1914, and what would become the Czechoslovaks were subjects of the Austrian Emperor. The round bronze medal was designed by Otakar Spaniel. The medal is signed O. Spaniel. The medal was worn on a rainbow-colored ribbon on the left chest. This ribbon was very coarsely woven compared to the ribbons of the medals of other countries. In beautiful original condition.
