Description
Brass helmet plate depicting a crowned eagle with outstretched wings, holding in its talons the symbols of power: scepter and orb.
On the wings the classic motto “Mit Gott für König und Fatherland”. In the middle a medallion with the monogram “FWR” – Friedrich Wilhelm Rex.
This type of helmet plate was worn by Prussian infantry regiments, including grenadier units, and was seen in regiments such as IR 145 ('König') before 1897.
