Description

Original hand-painted commemorative banner of the French Republic (RF - République Française), made on linen canvas and dating from the period of the First World War or shortly after (ca. 1914–1920).

At the centre is the republican monogram “RF”, placed within a laurel wreath, with heraldic motifs above and an award/order emblem below, an iconography characteristic of the French Third Republic.

The banner is framed with the Allies:

  • Great Britain
  • Italy
  • Russia
  • Belgium

Dimensions: 2 x 2.15 meters
