This flag symbolizes the important role Canadian troops played in the liberation of the Netherlands and Antwerp (the Scheldt Offensive) 1944–1945.
Canadian soldiers were responsible for liberating large parts of the Netherlands and also helped secure the port of Antwerp. This port was crucial for the supply of food and materials for the Allies.
