An exceptionally rare and entirely original NS-Soldatenbund Jäger Schirmmütze from the early period of the Third Reich, featuring green Waffenfarbe for the Jäger or Gebirgsjäger division and equipped with the extremely rare Edelweiss insignia of the SA Gruppe Hochland.

This Schirmmütze is among the most sought-after variants of NS-Soldatenbund headwear. The organization existed for only a short period (1936–1938), meaning original caps were produced in limited numbers. Examples with green piping are generally considered the hardest to find version.

The cap is in excellent, almost untouched condition. The dark wool upper shows only minimal signs of wear and retains its original shape. The green piping around the crown and band is fully intact except for a small spot on the back of the cap.

On the front is the original aluminum NS-Soldatenbund eagle above the national cockade with an oak leaf wreath.

The black patent leather chinstrap is original and complete. The patent leather visor is also in very good condition with no significant damage.

Rare Hochland Edelweiss Insignia

On the left side is an original Edelweiss insignia, the traditional emblem of the SA Gruppe Hochland. This insignia is rarely found on an NS-Soldatenbund Schirmmütze and makes a particularly attractive detail for collectors of SA, Gebirgsjäger, and early political headwear.

The combination of an NS-Soldatenbund Jäger version with a Hochland Edelweiss makes this example significantly more interesting than a standard version.
