Philips knijpkat type 7424

Hasenbos Militaria

Description

This type 7424-03 flashlight from World War II was developed by Philips. The flashlight earned its nickname from the sound it made when operated—a cat-like whining sound. Due to the shortage of various raw materials and products, and the lack of batteries, people were forced to think creatively about even the smallest objects for our daily use. Due to the blackout, having a light in the dark had become a very important commodity. Philips had a handy solution for this in the form of the flashlight, a flashlight that operated by hand. The flashlight was invented by Ir. L.J. Kalff. Although the flashlight was not patented until 1942, production began in 1941. It is in working condition. This item is sold out!
