Nice replica of a classic Budenovka, the characteristic pointed headwear of the early Red Army.

The Budenovka was developed in 1918 as part of a new uniform for the Red Army and was officially introduced on January 16, 1919. The hat became especially well-known during the Russian Civil War and grew into one of the most recognizable symbols of the early Soviet armed forces. 

The name Budenovka comes from the famous Red Army cavalry commander Semyon Budyonny. The original name was, among others, bogatyrka, referring to the legendary Russian heroes and the characteristic pointed shape of the hat. 

This version is made of grey/blue-grey wool felt and features the typical pointed shape, visor, ear flaps, and a red five-pointed star with hammer and sickle.
