The jacket is equipped with a zipper, two large front pockets with flaps, ribbed cuffs, and the recognizable USN print on the collar. On the back, there is a colorful depiction of a Native American headdress, and on the chest, a small yellow emblem.

The original inner label states Flight Jacket, Intermediate, G-1, according to specification MIL-J-7823 (AER). Based on the manufacturer and contract number, this piece dates back to 1952. The jacket is a size 44.

The G-1 was the signature leather flight jacket of the US Navy and was worn by naval aviators. This example combines the classic military design with striking paintings on the back and collar.
