Hasenbos Militaria
Description
German military marching boots, also known as Knobelbecher, dating from the period before or during the First World War (ca. 1890–1918).
These boots are an early type of German military marching boot from circa 1890-1918. They were used by the Imperial German Army and are made of thick leather with a wooden heel and hobnailed soles. This type of boot was worn by infantry and artillery during marches and field operations. The engraved numbers on the inside are likely a soldier or inventory number (last photo). After World War I, this style was replaced by more standardized boots.
