Rare and completely authentic French magistrate's beret from the Belle Époque, made of black velvet with a wide silver-colored passementerie band and a decorative silk cord with a tassel.
Presented in the original round storage box with a Bosc Costumier label, Boulevard Saint-Michel, Paris - official supplier to the Magistrates' Court, the Palais de Justice, and the Paris Bar.
This ceremonial headgear was worn by judges and high judicial officials at official hearings and ceremonies around the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
