Hasenbos Militaria
Description
Commemorative Medal of the War 1914-1918. This medal was instituted on 21 July 1919 and was awarded to Belgian veterans. The obverse of the medal depicts the helmeted head of a soldier, with the so-called Adrian helmet adorned with a laurel branch. The dates 1914 and 1918 are inscribed in the lower corners of the medal, while at the top of the medal is a rampant lion surrounded by an oak leaf branch (left) and a laurel branch (right). The reverse bears a bilingual inscription, below a royal crown flanked by an oak leaf branch (left) and a laurel branch (right): Medaille Commemorative / De La Campagne / 1914-1918 / Herdenkingsmedaille / Van Den Veldtocht. Signed EDBEJ De Bremaecker. They are becoming increasingly difficult to find. In used condition.
