German Mail Bag – Deutsches Bahnpostamt 4 Berlin – WWI Period

Original old mail bag from the German railway post office with the inscription "Deutsches Bahnpostamt 4 Berlin". This mail bag was used for transporting mail via train in Berlin.

The bag is made of heavy canvas and features the characteristic red, white, and black stripe. At the top is the number 34, likely an inventory or station number.

Dating: circa 1900–1920 (WWI period)
