Rare and authentic French Armée de l'Air pilot jacket from the late 1930s / early World War II, also known as the Modèle 1939. This type of jacket was worn by French fighter and bomber pilots during the “Drôle de Guerre” and the Battle of France (1939–1940).
This heavy leather jacket is crafted from thick leather and lined with a warm wool/sheepskin-like lining, specifically designed for use in cold, open cockpits at high altitude. The classic double-breasted front, wide lapel collar, and waistband with a metal ring buckle give the jacket its iconic military look.
The jacket is missing a button on the right side, see last photo, the jacket is in nice used condition
