Woodland armlet IFOR (Implementation Force 20-12-1995-2012-1996) On December 20, UNPROFOR transitioned into the NATO implementation force IFOR, which numbered 60,000 troops and was robustly armed. They carried out Operation "Joint Endeavour." IFOR was tasked with monitoring the ceasefire between the former warring parties. IFOR was also tasked with restoring law and order in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The Netherlands provided personnel for the Headquarters and a Mechanized Battalion (Mechbat) consisting of Infantry, Cavalry, and Engineer units. In addition, the Dutch government provided a National Support Element (NSE) for logistical support. On December 20, 1996, IFOR transitioned into SFOR. A total of 5,074 soldiers served within IFOR. IFOR and SFOR together suffered eight fatalities. The armlet is in good condition.
