Hasenbos Militaria
Description
Iraq M80 helmet, worn during the Gulf War. This helmet was designed in South Korea in 1971 and is called the Bangtan helmet. Bangtan means anti-ballistic or bulletproof. Despite the name, the helmet was not designed to withstand direct bullets, but to protect against heavy objects and shrapnel. It was a standard for the military worldwide in the 1970s. This was one of the first military helmets to use non-metallic composite materials to reduce weight while increasing protection. In used condition.
