Metalen plaquette Generaal Veldmaarschalk Colmar von der Goltz

Hasenbos Militaria

Description

Metal plaque of Helmuth Karl Bernhard Graf von Moltke (1800-1891), the famous Prussian field marshal and one of the most important military strategists of the 19th century.

Moltke was Chief of the Prussian General Staff for many years and played a key role in the victories over Denmark (1864), Austria (1866) and France (1870–1871), which ultimately led to the unification of Germany in 1871. He was known for his innovative war planning and the use of modern means such as railways and telegraphy.

Earlier in his career, Moltke served as a military advisor in the Ottoman Empire (1835–1839), where he helped modernize the army and create military maps in Anatolia and the Balkans. This period had a significant influence on his later strategic thinking.

The plaque depicts Moltke in uniform, with refined details such as the Iron Cross and the coat of arms on the shoulder. The dark metal patina gives the object a classic and authentic look.
