Description
Antique French medal box, produced by Lelieu – Le Havre (60 Rue Voltaire), a well-known supplier of official awards around the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century.
This is an original case for a French regional or civilian award. The exterior is made of dark blue/black imitation leather with a gold lion on the lid. The interior is lined with dark velvet and cream silk.
The box is in beautiful, original condition with minor signs of wear consistent with its age. The hinge works well, and the original manufacturer's label is fully legible.
