This beautiful example was reinstituted by Kaiser Wilhelm II on August 5, 1914, and awarded for proven bravery in combat situations. The cross has a three-part construction with a magnetic core and is marked with the maker's code 'KO', referring to the Königliches Münzamt Orden from Berlin.
The front shows the crown, the letter W, and the year 1914, while the back bears the FW monogram with an oak leaf motif and the year 1813. Includes original black/white ribbon of approximately 12 cm. The entire piece is in beautiful original used condition with a lovely authentic patina.
