Description
Original German WHW (Winterhilfswerk) donation pin from the early 1930s. This pin was issued during the annual fundraising campaigns of the Winterhilfswerk des Deutschen Volkes (WHW), a nationwide charity organization that collected donations for social support. Donors received an officially issued pin as a token of appreciation.
This example is made of cast aluminum with a silver-colored finish and has a diameter of approximately 30 mm. The front features a finely detailed relief portrait of Adolf Hitler with the text “Adolf Hitler - Deutschlands Führer”. The reverse is equipped with the original horizontal pin clasp, characteristic of early WHW issues.
These early WHW donation pins are considerably scarcer than the later mass-produced issues.
